Prescription Drug Abuse

Providers must comply with Provincial Colleges of Physicians and Surgeons, or equivalent regulatory authority, guidelines & regulations regarding the prescription of medications. 

Providers should take caution and use discretion if prescribing narcotics or controlled substances while using Rocket Doctor’s platform in episodic care circumstances.  

Providers should remember to evaluate each patient’s request on a case-by-case basis, while maintaining a high index of suspicion for the possibility of misuse or diversion, given the inherent risk of abuse for the drug in question and difficulty in ensuring close follow-up.
