Payee Number Setup for Physicians in British Columbia
In British Columbia, each physician is assigned a default payee number, which is typically the same as your MSP (Medical Services Plan) number. However, if your MSP/payee number is already linked to another clinic, it may be associated with a different data centre than the one used by ClinicAid.
Physicians are allowed to have multiple payee numbers and can apply for a new one when needed.
🧾 Key Definitions:
MSP:
A permanent, unique identifier is assigned to you as a physician. It follows you throughout your career and is used by others for referrals or consultation requests.
Payee Number:
This number tells MSP where to send payment for services billed. Your initial Payee number will match your MSP number, but you can request additional Payee Numbers throughout your career. For example, if you bill through a corporation, work with multiple clinics, or need to separate income streams.
Steps to Apply for a New Payee Number:
1) Apply for a new payee number
- You’ll need to submit a new Application for Teleplan Service form to link your new payee number with your ClinicAid account.
- Access the form here.
- Under section B: select option 5 on the form and state that you need a new payee number to work using the Rocket Doctor Virtual Platform.
- The data centre is: T9181

2) Complete a new Direct Deposit form
- Access the Direct Deposit form here.
- When completing this form alongside your new payee application, be sure to enter "payee" in the MSP Payment Number field. This ensures MSP links the correct banking info to your new payee number.
⚠️ Note: Processing a new payee number typically takes 5–7 business days.

After You Receive Your New Payee Number:
- Log in to your ClinicAid account
- Go to Settings → Teleplan Settings (or Billing → Teleplan Connection depending on your view).
- Find the field labeled “Payee Number” and enter your new MSP payee number.
- Click Save / Update.
- If prompted, re-enter your Teleplan password to re-validate the connection.
