Help with Billing and Patient Names not Matching
If you have the PHN, you can contact the BC MSP service to verify patient names. Conversely, they can help identify whether the PHN for a specific patient is correct or not.
To check patient coverage, follow these steps:
Call Patient Coverage: 1-866-456-6950
- For patient information, Press 2,
- Check coverage, Press 1, OR to discuss with an agent, Press 2.
- If checking coverage over the phone, without an agent, you can Press 1 to verify by phone, then Press 4 to verify the patient initials and last name assigned to that PHN and DOB
If a patient has provided the wrong MSP number, they can call this number to confirm their proper MSP number:
For Patients: 1-800-663-7100
- Option 1 for English, skip message 1
- Self Service to check for coverage 1
- Check MSP coverage 1
- Check by Phone 1
- Press 0 to speak with an agent if the patient does not have a card
