How do I get ConnectingOntario Access?

ConnectingOntario Access - allows access to certain lab, imaging and hospital documents from participating Ontario institutions. 

1.   Create your username here 
2.   Scroll down to bottom, select "Onboard my Organization". 
3. Consent

4. Enter your personal phone number and e-mail address.

5. Select whether you have a "OneID" account or not. If not, eHealthOntario will reach out to you to create a "OneID" which you need prior to obtaining access to ConnectingOntario

6. Select the LHIN according to your geographical region.

  • "Organization Type" "Sole Physician or Physician Group Practice"
  • "Organization Name" - you must enter your own Organization (could be your MPC or, if not incorporated, simply your name. Please do not enter Rocket Doctor here as we are not a clinic).
  • "Site Name" - same as "Organization Name"
  • "Site Address" - address of your primary practice address. This address will be used on the Legal agreement with eHealth Ontario and not published anywhere)
  • "Is the organization a HIC within the meaning of the Personal Health Information Protection Act?" - Yes (since you are the Health information custodian for all your charts)

7. Questions for the last Step 4 are to be answered depending on your clinic's details (ie if your MPC has more than 1 employee or site, or if you are an Individual practitioner it would be 1 employee and likely 1 site)
Legal status depends on whether you are Incorporated or not

8. The last set of questions in Step 4 also depend on your clinic situation; in most cases you (the MD) will be the Signing Authority, Privacy Officer, and Security Officer (applies to most Individual practitioners and MPCs)
